Davie County

The western county of the metro area, a rural-suburban region centered on the county seat of Mocksville. Davie County offers a slower pace of life with strong schools (Davie County Schools is consistently well-rated), affordable land, and a growing wine country identity along the Yadkin Valley AVA. Mocksville's compact downtown features local shops and restaurants. I-40 crosses the southern part of the county, providing 25-30 minute access to Winston-Salem. The county's eastern edge near Bermuda Run and Advance is more suburban, while the western portions remain agricultural with horse farms and vineyards.
