The southern Wichita neighborhoods and Sedgwick County suburbs along I-35 and the Kansas Turnpike, anchored by Derby (the county's second-largest city and home to Derby Public Schools, among the top-rated in Kansas) and Haysville. McConnell Air Force Base (home of KC-135 Stratotanker and B-1B Lancer units) sits in southeastern Wichita. Mulvane (in Sumner County) marks the southern edge of the Wichita suburban belt.
