Central and northern Orange County away from the Hudson River. Anchored by the City of Middletown (the largest city in Orange County by population, home to SUNY Orange community college), Goshen (the Orange County seat and home to Goshen Historic Track — the oldest active harness racing track in the United States, dating to 1838, and the Harness Racing Hall of Fame), Chester, Montgomery (containing the villages of Walden and Maybrook), Wallkill (including the hamlet of Circleville), Crawford (Pine Bush), and Hamptonburgh. The region straddles the NY-17 / I-86 corridor toward the Catskills.
