West Bank

The communities south of the Mississippi River in Jefferson, Orleans, and Plaquemines parishes, connected to the East Bank by the Crescent City Connection and Huey P. Long bridges. The West Bank of Jefferson Parish contains the large CDPs of Marrero, Harvey, Terrytown, and Estelle, plus the incorporated cities of Gretna and Westwego. Algiers is the only Orleans Parish neighborhood on the West Bank, with historic architecture and river views. Belle Chasse anchors the northern end of Plaquemines Parish and is home to NAS JRB New Orleans.
