Mid-City & Bayou St. John

The geographic center of New Orleans, anchored by the Canal Street commercial corridor, the Bayou St. John waterway, and City Park -- one of the largest urban parks in the country. Mid-City is a diverse, walkable neighborhood with a mix of Creole cottages, shotgun houses, and bungalows. The area includes Lakeview, which borders Lake Pontchartrain and features some of the city's best-rated public schools. The Canal streetcar connects this region to downtown and the French Quarter.
