The western Hennepin County suburbs surrounding Lake Minnetonka, anchored by Wayzata, Plymouth, Maple Grove, Minnetrista, Mound, Long Lake, Orono, Deephaven, and Excelsior. Lake Minnetonka is the 10th-largest lake in Minnesota and historically the resort/country club destination for Twin Cities elite — the 'Minnetonka crowd' includes many of the region's most expensive lakefront estates. Plymouth and Maple Grove are the largest population centers.
