Dakota County, the southern suburban county across the Minnesota River from south Minneapolis and south St. Paul. Anchored by Eagan (home of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and the Minnesota Vikings' former Winter Park facility), Burnsville, Apple Valley (home to the Minnesota Zoo), Lakeville, Farmington, Rosemount, Inver Grove Heights, West St. Paul, South St. Paul, Mendota Heights, and Hastings (the county seat). This region contains the Minnesota Zoo and the Apple Valley Golden Arches headquarters.
