The east side of the city of Madison plus the adjacent eastern Dane County communities, anchored by Sun Prairie (the county's largest suburb), Cottage Grove, Deerfield, and McFarland. East Madison contains the historic Atwood-Schenk neighborhood, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and the East Washington Avenue commercial corridor. Sun Prairie has been one of Wisconsin's fastest-growing cities, with significant residential subdivision development along US-151 east of Madison.
