Downtown Madison & Isthmus

The central isthmus of the city of Madison between Lake Mendota and Lake Monona, containing the Wisconsin State Capitol, the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, the iconic State Street pedestrian corridor, the historic Mansion Hill district, the Willy Street arts corridor, Capitol Square (home of the Saturday Dane County Farmers Market), Monona Terrace (designed by Frank Lloyd Wright), and the Camp Randall football stadium area. The isthmus is one of the most distinctive urban geographies in the United States.
