The midtown and south neighborhoods of Kansas City, Missouri, including the Country Club Plaza (the first shopping center in America designed for automobiles, built 1922), Westport (the historic entertainment district where the city originally began), Brookside (a walkable historic 1920s planned neighborhood), Waldo, Hyde Park, Troost Avenue corridor, 39th Street West, the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) campus, and south side neighborhoods extending to the city's southern border. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (free admission) sits on the eastern edge of the Plaza.
