The region contains the GM Fairfax Assembly Plant (the oldest continuously-operating GM plant in the US, building the Chevrolet Malibu and Cadillac XT4), the Kansas Speedway NASCAR track, the Village West retail and entertainment complex (including Cabela's, Legends Outlets, and Children's Mercy Park — home of Sporting Kansas City MLS), the University of Kansas Health System and Medical Center, Edwardsville, and Bonner Springs.
