Clay County

The suburban and semi-rural communities west and south of Jacksonville across the St. Johns River in Clay County. Orange Park — the county's commercial hub — sits directly across the Buckman Bridge from Mandarin and offers shopping, dining, and medical services. Fleming Island and Oakleaf Plantation are large master-planned CDPs that have driven Clay County's population growth, offering family-oriented subdivisions, top-rated Clay County schools, and relatively affordable homes compared to St. Johns County. Middleburg provides a more rural character farther inland, while Green Cove Springs (the county seat) anchors the southern portion on the river. Lakeside, the county's largest CDP by area, fills the gap between Orange Park and Middleburg with established suburban neighborhoods.
