Pascagoula & Moss Point
The industrial and shipbuilding heart of the eastern Gulf Coast. Pascagoula (pop. 22,010) is the Jackson County seat and home to Ingalls Shipbuilding (HII), the largest manufacturing employer in Mississippi. Moss Point (pop. 12,147) sits at the confluence of the Pascagoula and Escatawpa rivers. Escatawpa (pop. 3,254) and Latimer (pop. 6,720) are residential CDPs along the I-10 corridor north of Pascagoula. This region has the strongest blue-collar industrial character on the Coast.
