West Fresno County

The western reaches of Fresno County stretching into the agricultural flatlands toward the Coast Ranges. Further west, Firebaugh (pop ~8,100), Mendota (pop ~12,600, the 'Cantaloupe Center of the World'), and San Joaquin (pop ~3,700) are farming communities tied to the vast agricultural operations of the Westlands Water District. Coalinga (pop ~17,600) and Huron (pop ~6,200) sit at the far western edge near I-5.
