Madera County

The northern portion of the metro area in neighboring Madera County, part of the Fresno-Madera CSA. The city of Madera (pop ~66,200) is the county seat and a rapidly growing community just 23 miles northwest of Fresno along SR-99. Chowchilla (pop ~19,000) sits further north along SR-99 and is the county's second incorporated city. Madera Ranchos (pop ~3,600) is a rural residential CDP east of Madera. Oakhurst (pop ~5,900) is an unincorporated foothill community serving as the southern gateway to Yosemite National Park via SR-41.
