Central Columbia

The urban core of the South Carolina capital, spanning downtown Columbia, the University of South Carolina campus, and the historic in-town neighborhoods that ring the city center. Downtown anchors the area with the State House, Main Street district, and the Vista arts-and-dining corridor along the Congaree riverfront. South of campus, the Shandon, Rosewood, and Heathwood neighborhoods offer tree-lined streets and early-20th-century homes within walking distance of Five Points. North of downtown, Elmwood Park, Earlewood, and Eau Claire are historic neighborhoods experiencing revitalization. Forest Acres and Arcadia Lakes sit east of the city as small incorporated enclaves with a suburban feel minutes from downtown.
