Lorain County, the western Cleveland MSA county along Lake Erie and I-90. Elyria is the county seat; Lorain (the largest city in the county) is a historic industrial port city on Lake Erie. Avon and Avon Lake form the lakefront eastern corridor with significant newer growth. North Ridgeville, Amherst, and Oberlin — the last a stand-alone college town and home of Oberlin College — round out the county. The Lorain International Festival celebrates the county's historic Eastern European heritage.
