Metra Electric / I-57

The South Cook County and northeastern Will County suburbs along I-57, I-80/I-294, and the Metra Electric and Rock Island District lines. Homewood and Flossmoor anchor the corridor with their historic Olmsted-inspired village layouts, tree-lined streets, and Metra Electric commuter stops. Matteson, Olympia Fields, and Park Forest — the latter one of the nation's first post-WWII planned communities — offer affordable housing stock and established commercial centers. Chicago Heights and Harvey are older industrial cities, while Calumet City and Lansing sit on the Indiana state line along I-80/94.
