Anchored by the City of Niagara Falls (population ~48,000, home to the Niagara Falls State Park — the oldest state park in the United States, established 1885), Lewiston (historic village on the Lower Niagara River, home of the Artpark), Youngstown and Old Fort Niagara (the historic French-built fort guarding the mouth of the Niagara River at Lake Ontario), Wheatfield (fast-growing suburb and home to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center), the Town of Niagara (around the Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls USA), and Wilson (Lake Ontario bayshore). The region shares the world's most famous waterfall with Ontario, Canada.
